New Managers Announced ahead of 2023-24 Season

Everybody at CCFC is delighted with our appointments and we cannot wait for them to get started, in what marks a significant and exciting shift in direction for the club.

After winning the Hampshire Premier League's Senior Division the previous two seasons we felt that we could benefit from some self-assessment and a change in strategy.  Winning trophies is amazing, but we don't want to rest on our laurels - we can do better than that.

We decided to recruit top quality coaches, with proven experience of developing young players.  Steve King (and his soon to be confirmed backroom staff) has been brought in to manage our First Team, while Pedro Pelé Monteiro and Ruben Pinto were identified to run our Development Team.  All 3 men have an abundance of experience with both adult and youth football, and are perfectly aligned with the core values of our club.  They aren't just high calibre coaches but they're also fantastic humans, who are passionate about player growth - not only their footballing skillset but also as people.  Their humble characters and their motivations are both refreshing and inspiring.  We're very proud to have them, and excited for them to get going!

Steve King (39), joins us from the Wessex Premier League where he was First Team Coach with Baffins Milton Rovers FC.  He said "it was a tough decision to leave.  Danny (Thompson) and the rest of the team are doing a fantastic job there, finishing 7th and winning the League Cup.  I wish them all the very best next season in their push for promotion".

Prior to BMRFC, Steve has managed at Fleetlands FC and Gosport Borough Reserves.  He is also heavily involved with Gosport Borough Youth FC.  Hopefully his glowing reputation in the Portsmouth area will encourage some of PO's finest talent to make the trip along the M27!

Pelé & Ruben are a highly regarded and likeable double act because of their passion and commitment to coaching youth football in the Southampton area.  Pelé (45) brings with him a wealth of experience having formerly played for Southampton FC and West Bromwich Albion FC in the Premier League.  He and Ruben join us from St Francis FC where they oversaw the entire youth section and helped it grow substantially, as well as managing the Adult First Team where they achieved 2 promotions in the past 3 seasons.

All 3 men fit the philosophy of our club perfectly.  We are working closely with Colden Common Youth FC as we endeavour to produce a pre-season programme to match our ambitions.  Details of open-training sessions will be announced in the coming days.

Up The Stallions!!
